The other day I asked Hayes to help me find a new place to store my vacuum cleaner. I told her to try the closet where the water heater is. When she opened the door, she found a missed Christmas present that Santa had left for me, her and Chooj. Hayes was very excited for me because Santa missed me Christmas morning at Shannon's house. We opened it up and found a Nintendo Game Cube with three games. The best game of all was "Cars" and the kids have had a blast driving and racing Lightning McQueen. There has been a bit of fighting but after a couple days they are learning to take turns and play together. This has been a great gift because Chooj is learning to use his hands without looking at them. I have also noticed Hayes' hand coordination improving in just a couple days. I remember struggling as a kid with the original Nintendo controller with it's two buttons and single cursor. These controllers have about 8 different buttons and three different joysticks. Here is Chooj playing while Hayes is on the computer playing on Webkinz.
Also, we received a package from Uncle Daryl and Aunt Lynn yesterday with more Christmas presents. Hayes got some really cool jeans and very nice hoodie. Chooj got a horse that turns into a pillow, which is now named Kingo and has been ridden all over the apartment. I received the most beautiful wood carving of an eagle, which I am still trying to decide where to hang. I'm thinking the bedroom since there is nothing hanging in there yet.
